Why Book Printing China Is A Frequent Search Item

By Casandra Newton

The reasons why book printing China is a popular search term are similar to the reason why the country has become known as the workshop of the world. Jobs can be done economically there and so business people from foreign countries find it profitable to work with Chinese workers to get products made in the most economical ways. In free markets profit is the ruling motive.

When unemployment is rife in some countries politicians, journalists and others may begin to mutter that it should be the patriotic duty of business people to provide jobs at home rather than send work to be done in other countries. This is done to make others feel guilty about outsourcing work to other countries.

In countries where free enterprise is at the heart of economic theory it seems inconsistent and illogical to put aside the importance of profit when convenient. If it is profit that is accepted as being the driving force in economic activity then business people must be allowed to seek the most economical ways of getting things done.

People around the world are often supplied with poor quality goods made in China. This is often put forward as a reason why Chinese products should not be purchased. However, Chinese culture is extremely quality conscious and high quality goods have been available in the country for many centuries. Being pragmatic manufacturers will make cheap goods if foreigners wish to buy them but this does not mean that everything is of poor quality.

Chinese people are themselves often dismissive of poor quality exported goods. They would not buy such goods themselves and wonder how people can be so foolish to trade in them. Food and clothing shops in China display high quality goods and shoppers are highly selective. They search through piles of fruit, picking out only the best items for which they pay relevant prices.

In western countries some people argue that Chinese people are paid low wages and for that reason it is immoral to buy goods made by them. The curious logic here is that a purchaser becomes complicit in exploitation of he purchases goods made made by workers who are prepared to work for less than their counterparts in other countries. Some slight reflection could reveal this reasoning as insincere because the best way to help poorly paid people is surely not to boycott them, but to rather patronize their work.

Chinese work ethics are extremely high. People work for long hours, they work very quickly and efficiently, and they take pride in doing their work very well. These are precisely the ethics that were behind the Industrial Revolution that made some western countries wealthy during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. However, when wealth has been made by one generation the succeeding generations may forget what went into making it.

Chinese culture is at least twice as old as the English language and that is why a contemporary search for book printing China can yield some useful results. There is a great deal that can be learned from a culture that has such a long tradition of literacy. In addition the purely practical aspects of printing can be accomplished in a quick and economical manner.
