How To Write A Book In A Few Steps

By David Gray

Writers would somehow agree that the most difficult part in creating a novel would be to start it because once the flow of the story is there, then things would just come out naturally. Of course if one would want to start with his novel, then he will first need an outline. For those who want to create this kind of material, here are good tips on how to write a book.

Now the conceptualization of the idea is the easy part but making the flow of the story is the hard part. If one would want to make a good story flow, then first he would need a good setting of the story. Other than that, he would also be needing interesting characters that the readers would love to get to know as they would read the tale.

Once one has already done this, then he has to create an outline for his story so that he may be able to have coherence and flow as he writes. First of all, he has to take note of the traditional flow of stories which would consist of the introduction, the climbing, the climax, the twist, and then the conclusion. With this flow in mind, one can make the outline following this traditional flow and then filling in the details later on as he goes.

So first off would be the introduction which usually can be found in the first chapter. Now in the first chapter, the author will be introducing the protagonist and will be talking about the setting. The introduction part is all about letting the reader visualize the place and time of the story so that he will be enticed to continue reading the story.

Now once the introduction stage has already been finished, then of course the next stage is the building up of this story which is where the antagonist or the villain would be introduced. Now along with the villain, there is a conflict of interest that would be introduced as well. It would be the job of this hero to try to resolve that conflict by fighting the villain.

Now when the story would start to pick up the pace, then it is heading for the climax part wherein the main battle of the hero would begin. Readers would all agree that the climax is the most blood pumping part as this is where the resolution would come in. It is the part that leads directly to the resolution.

Of course no story would be complete without a little twist that happens in the middle of the climax or somewhere after. Now for those that do not know what a twist is, it is basically a surprise in the story. It usually occurs somewhere near the climax but may actually occur somewhere before it.

Last would be the resolution wherein the hero has already resolved the conflict. Now the author can choose to create either a happy ending or a bad ending here. It does not really matter as long as the hero has already resolved the conflict that he was battling during the earlier parts of the story.
