The Heart Warming Poems To Read

By Alison Wilcox

Poetry has always been a source of inspiration for a lot of people because of the deep meaning behind the words. The best part of poetry is that anyone can have their own interpretation about the piece because it presents itself in such a broad manner where many interpretations may arise. So for those who love to read this eternal art form, here are some great heart warming poems.

One very nice poem by sir Isaac Watts is called True Greatness and as the title implies, it talks about true greatness. In short, it talks about how men can achieve their own true greatness by outliving his own standards. If he is able to go past what he can already do, then he has already achieved his true goal.

A very touching piece of poetry with an unknown author is known as The Christian Paradox where in the use of the language is really superb. The message is short and simple and tells its readers that giving can actually produce a better feeling than receiving. Although receiving does feel good, giving will make a person feel like he has fulfilled a very important part of his life that cannot be bought by money.

The poem Wounded But Not Slain is a very inspiring piece of work although the author of this piece is anonymous. Basically, this piece describes the experiences of a wounded soldier who is in the battlefield and has almost lost the will to fight. However, the story goes that he eventually picks himself back up and decides to continue.

Today by Lydia L. Roberts is one very inspiring poem that tells people about life as a whole. The whole poem is actually telling the readers how they should always strive toward the future, live in the present, and never look back at the past. Also to never be afraid of what is to come because being afraid will make one lose all of his drive to do what he wants.

For Christian readers or for anyone who is interested in Christianity, this poem called God Ever Cares by J Danson Smith is a short and beautiful one. As the title states, it talks about God never leaving his children. Whether times are rough or not, God will always be caring for his people and will deliver them from anything as long as they ask.

For those who have been hiding their true selves for a very long time, maybe this poem by Horatius Bonar will shed some light. The name of the poem is True and it talks about how people must always have to be true to themselves if they want others to sincerely love them. Always speak the truth and never lie to oneself because it will only bring misery.

So for those people who love inspirational pieces of work, here are some very heart warming poems that may touch a person. Although there are many pieces out there, these are some of the most simple but striking ones that are out there. Poems that need not hours of interpretation are the ones that will truly inspire a person.
