Web Copywriting Checklist - The Basics

In Internet marketing, one of the most important parts is copywriting. In order to convert visitors into customers once you get visitors to your site, you need to depend largely on your sales copy.

Unfortunately, the art of web copywriting is what many webmasters tend to neglect. While copywriting is considered an art, it is helpful to have a checklist of important points. When it comes to good web copywriting, here are some of the major components.

Creating your headline It's important for your headline to not only grab the attention of your readers, but to compel them to read more as well. Your headline should be able to achieve this. Generally moving about on the Internet very quickly are the web surfers. According to research, you only have a matter of seconds to grab the attention of the reader otherwise, they will move on. This is the reason why your headline is very important.

What about your introductory copy? Make sure that the first few paragraphs of your sales copy will reinforce the headline and convince your readers to continue reading.

The benefits Does you sales copy sell the benefits of your product or service of just the features? An example would be your site trying to convince your readers that you Vitamin C product is the best or maybe you're trying to convince them that this Vitamin C product of yours will give them the best health benefits.

Call To Action When it comes to your sales copy, find out if it clearly and compellingly tells your customers what action they should take after they read your website. The desired action is usually to buy your product.

What about assurances? If they feel comfortable doing so, only then will your prospects buy. There are several things you can do to make them feel more comfortable buying from you, such as:

Try displaying your picture Display your contact date Include your membership with the Better Business Bureau, etc. Display a guarantee Display a secure server logo as well
