Helpful Tips One Can Employ When Writing Great Depression Memoirs

By Darcy Henderson

A lot of people, especially those who have experienced how life was like then, cannot seem to forget the challenges that have been brought about by the major economic slump back in the 1930s. Such compelling tales and memories have made many people write great depression memoirs.

One may be right to consider that the economic state of the country during those years can be rightfully considered one of its worst forms. There were numbers of jobless people since many establishments have opted to either close their business or cut down their employees.

Many people who have lived to tell the story of those compelling times may still recall how things started with the falloff the Wall Street. It was back in 1929 when the stock market crashed, caused its stock prices to plummet and leave investors bankrupt in the process.

One might want to start narrating his great depression memoirs by making an account of the way life was before the economic trial struck. This is because during those days, the country was enjoying a good economic run and prosperity was apparent to many people.

One may want to include the state of panic that many banks have been thrown into right after the stock market crash. Since most of these financial establishments have invested most of their money in stocks, they were eventually forced to close out leaving many customers on loose ends.

Many people often like to include in their narratives how times have shifted, how the country was able to stand up again and pick up the pieces of the economic tatters that it was in, and was able to help improve the economic state and in the process- the lives of the people as well.

With a large number of people who have been affected and whose lives have been drastically changed by the economic slump then, it is no wonder how a lot of individuals prefer to reminisce those days with great depression memoirs that will remind the younger generation of what it takes to provide them the better life that they have now.
