Now, more than ever people need to understand the past, so as not to make the same mistakes, and to create a brighter future.

All eyes should be on the entertainment industry, if there are any doubts about what is going on in the world. When the entertainment becomes fanciful, extravagant and escapist, the economy has taken a turn for the worse. It was true in the 1930's according to the writings, and it is true now. People need the outlet of escaping their problems when it becomes so hard to acquire basic needs.

Jobs were a challenge to find and hardworking, decent people, through no fault of their own lost their jobs. With no jobs, their confidence in themselves and their abilities to support their families wane. A new way of living must be put in place to survive.

Expectations are lowered during a financial struggle. Instead of expecting there to be bread on the table, people tend to be grateful when there is bread on their table. It is a completely different mentality, then when times are flush and bountiful.
