Writing Articles - How Can It Affect Your Traffic?

By Kathleen Burch

When you are writing an article, what are the things you should consider? This will actually depend on the things that you want to convey to your reader. Do you want to confirm, complain, or just present the issues? How can your readers and your traffic be affected by these styles of writing and the words you use?

Is it Information for your Reader? The informative article is the most prevalent articles on the Internet. Readers on the Internet connect to your article because they want to learn, or resolve an issue that they are currently facing. The "How To" or "factual" piece should present viable facts and possible solutions to the reader. These types of articles can increase your creditability on the Internet as an Expert.

Pro and Con Article You can slant the article either for or against when you use this type of article. Another option is to present both sides and let your reader draw their own conclusions. Regardless if you are for or against the issue, you should back it up with facts. Why? Your creditability is on the line, as always.

To Complain Okay, this article really isn't a type. What the writer uses in this case is the article in order to pulpit to express his complaints. You will get people to listen if it was presented tastefully. However, if it is more of an "I'm mad at the whole world" scenario - then this writing should be reserved to a blog - your own.

Out there, there are actually plenty of articles that are not informative and are not well written at all. If the author has nothing good to write about then they should probably look to another line of work! For one thing, there are actually authors that write the same type of article every time and they complain and criticize. These are the types of articles that will not help your website flourish. For most readers, they find it to be offensive, distasteful, and uninformative. Remember this lesson, over time you will lose your readers if you complain so make sure you can support your claims and don't do it too often.

There are positive and negative ways of presenting your words to your reader. When you present them in words, the choice on how to do so is up to you. Keep in mind that the click of the mouse is still the choice of the reader.
