Original Content - How It Reflects in Google Search Rank

A spokesperson from Godot media, a reputed content writing service company asserted that, "The modifications in Google's search engine algorithm are expected to greatly affect the entire web content and web industry. The change will hopefully push down the 'spam' websites in search results and reward the more deserving high quality content websites". Changes in Google's search algorithm are expected to affect the existing search engine rankings of webpages significantly.

Although changes were made in 2010, the Google team perceived the need for additional action to effectively counter content farms. In the second half of January this year, additional modifications were made with the objective of preventing duplicate content and spam from getting high ranking in Google search results.

Websites are ranked and the most useful results are offered to searchers using an algorithm. As many as 200 criteria which include link popularity and keyword usage are considered in Google's search algorithm. One of the key criteria for determining Google search rank of a webpage is original content.

Google is continuously tweaking its algorithm to counter duplicate content, and provide relevant content to users. Godot Media spokesperson said that the primary objective behind the recent changes in Google's search algorithm was to reward the sites that offer original content and penalize the sites that offer duplicate content. Matt Cutts, the Google spokesperson, had made it clear that content farms and sites with duplicate content or spam were the main reasons behind the two big changes made in the search algorithm last year.

All these changes indicate the increasing importance of relevant and unique content for search marketers and website owners. Several tips were offered by Godot spokesperson to help website owners to use these changes for for more effective SEO.

Invest resources into creation of Original and beneficial content for your target audience is the best way to market your business or website. Stuffing content with excessive number of keywords is not a good web content strategy anymore. Maintain optimum keyword density and ensure that the keywords appear naturally in the content. It is extremely hard to get away with any content duplication as Google's search algorithm has become efficient at catching this. In case your website contains any direct quotations or definitions, it would be best to have these rewritten. Make Sure that your website offers up-to-date and useful content by revisiting the content.

Tweaks in Google's search algorithm have increased the importance of original content manifolds. If you wish to boost your site's Google search rankings, it is crucial to ensure that your website contains original and up-to-date content. As the Godot representative puts it, "Considering the requirements of your readers is much more critical than obsessing over your search result ranks". If you wish to improve your search rank, you need to focus on providing quality content to your audience because the ultimate objective of search engines is to offer the most relevant content to the searchers.
